Be Part of a Great Michigan Tradition

Psi Upsilon Fraternity

Psi Upsilon is announcing its recolonization efforts at our historic chapter at the University of Michigan!

We are looking to rebuild the chapter out of men of excellence. This recolonization is a re-founding of the chapter to achieve the values it was created to live for. We are looking for men with moral leadership, responsible social conduct, a desire for service to society and intellectual engagement, all while establishing, a lifelong friendship.

Traditions of Michigan and Psi Upsilon

The University of Michigan is rich in tradition such as football Saturday's, spinning The Cube, painting the rock, and not stepping on the "M" in the Diag.

Psi Upsilon at the University of Michigan is rich in tradition as well. Founded in 1865, Psi Upsilon has had over a 150 years worth of tradition at this university making it one of the most prestigious fraternities at the University of Michigan. The Chapter House, located at 1000 Hill Street, is an historic building designed by Albert Kahn – architect of many of the classic buildings at the University of Michigan including the Burton Memorial Tower, Hill Auditorium, the Hatcher Graduate Library, and William L. Clements Library. The Phi chapter house still stands as a testament to the continued success of the chapter and a house for which future brothers will live in.

Psi Upsilon at the University of Michigan has been the home for prominent alumni of which include: P. Anthony Ridder, Chairman and CEO of Knight-Ridder (Left), William C. Ford, Vice Chairman of Ford Motor Co. and Owner of the Detroit Lions (Middle), and Tony Fadell, one of the fathers of the iPod (Right).

Why Psi Upsilon?

The Phi chapter of Psi Upsilon is restarting at the University of Michigan and that opens the door for students to become a part of a 150 year tradition. We are recolonizing a fraternity that will contain leaders of excellence on campus, one that is respected because of the responsible social conduct of it's members and it's service to society.

Now YOU can be a part of the great Psi Upsilon tradition at UM.

In taking part in this effort, you yourself will build skills such as organization management, leadership development, recruitment, and event planning among other things .

The Phi of Psi Upsilon

The Phi chapter was originally founded in 1865 at the University of Michigan. The Phi share similar ideals, hopes and purposes bonded by deep friendship and mutual understanding about standing together throughout life. Fostering high standards, each member embodies timeless ideals, aims and principles.   Each aspire to make a significant contribution to their university, to their fraternity, to their community and to their country; to adopt and fulfill significant life goals; and to achieve the highest moral, intellectual, and social excellence.

Psi Upsilon is among the most prestigious operating fraternities at the University of Michigan.
