The highest recognition a chapter can receive from Psi Upsilon is the Diamond Award and we would like to congratulate the Upsilon chapter (University of Rochester) and the Lambda Sigma Chapter (Pepperdine University) for receiving this honor at the 175th Convention.

For the 2017 - 2018 year the Upsilon Chapter had over half its members achieve the Deans List, held and co-hosted a number of leadership workshops, and was presented the "Expectations for Excellence Award for Overall Excellence in Strategic Planning", the highest honor that can be given to any Greek organization at Rochester.

The Lambda Sigma Chapter averaged over 40 hours of service per brother, more than any other chapter and held the highest fraternity GPA on campus in the Fall.  Due to these achievements the chapter was awarded "Fraternity of the Year" by Pepperdine IFC.

The Distinguished Alumni Service Award is rewarded to Alumni who have brought honor to our Fraternity through their fidelity and adherence to the values of Psi Upsilon and their service to their chapter, community, the Fraternity, and the great nations of United States and Canada.

This year we are proud to announce Jay LaPanne, Delta Nu '89 (Keene State) as the 2018 recipient of this prestigious award.

Jay was one of the founders of Delta Nu Psi at Keene State College which became the Delta Nu Chapter of Psi Upsilon in 2009. Jay has always been very involved with the chapter, oftentimes making multiple trips up each semester to work with the brothers. Jay currently serves as the Secretary of the Executive Council of Psi Upsilon, was a member of the Naval Reserves and currently serves as a volunteer firefighter in Glastonbury, CT.

Julia Schultz '19, Archon of the Delta Nu Chapter, said, "Jay genuinely cares about his brothers. He has seen us all at our worst and best times and continues to come back to build us up. I cannot think of a more deserving Alumnus than Jay LaPanne for this award."

Matt Fried '95, alumni president of the Delta Nu Chapter, added, "Through his actions, Jay has truly made a difference in serving the Psi U Chapter, his local community, and our nation. Psi Upsilon has made a good choice in recognizing Jay's great work through the years with this award."
