Each year the Psi Upsilon Convention presents awards to chapters for special programs, philanthropy, service, and academic achievement. At the 173rd Convention 10 chapters were recognized for their efforts during the 2015-16 academic year.

The Lambda Sigma Chapter at Pepperdine University led the way and was granted the Diamond Award for Exceptional Chapters, recognition for their work over the course of the year where they also received Pepperdine's award for Fraternity of the Year. They also received the Award of Distinction for their Psi U Think U Can Dance Philanthropy which raised over $20,000 for Conquer Paralysis Now! They also received the Owl Award for Exceptional Academic Performance, Clasped Hand Award for Outstanding Philanthropy and Service, and the Garnet and Gold Award for Academic Excellence.

Other standouts include the Pi Chapter at Syracuse University which received the Award of Distinction for the work the entire chapter, undergraduate and alumni, rallied together after the chapter house wasn't able to open in the Fall. Local alumni opened up their houses to members and the alumni association raised over $100,000 to get their chapter house back up to code. The Pi Chapter also received the Garnet and Gold Award for Academic Excellence and the Clasped Hand Award for Philanthropy and Service.
