Heraldy of the Phi Nu Chapter

Arms - Quarterly: first and fourth sable, two dexter hands hand-in-hand in fess between the Greek capital letters Psi and Upsilon, the former in chief, the latter in base, or; second and third vert, a clipper and compass. The clipper is a marine vessel of great import for the Virginia coast and symbolizes the constant pursuit of a new horizon. The compass serves to guide this pursuit.

Crest - on a wreath of argent and azure an owl argent

Motto - "We are Founded by the Water," translated from the original greek, presented azure over a scroll argent
