Heraldry of the Phi Delta Chapter

Arms - Sable, two dexter hands hand-in-hand in fess between the Greek capital letters Psi and Upsilon, the former in chief, the latter in base, or, impaling vert, a Celtic harp with 10 strings on a field argent. The base of the harp features a black diamond. The Celtic harp alludes to the Union soldiers of Irish origin who were the founders of Mary Washington University immediately after the Civil War. Psi Upsilon was the first Greek letter society on the Mary Washington campus. The wreath of argent and azure reflect the colors of the University.

Motto - "We break new ground" or "We lead the way" as translated from the Greek; presented azure on a scroll argent
