Delta Yule Log
On December 7th, New York area brothers came together in one of the oldest Psi U traditions, the Delta Yule Log. The event dates back to 1895 when Erik Wallin, Delta 1897, first told the story of the Swedish yule log tradition.

Erik described hearty Christmas traditons filled with spiced wines and jubilant races home among his countrymen. Recalling all the warm spirit that the traditions embodied, Erik and the brothers decided that they would hold a Yule Log of their own in New York City.

The occasion brought out alumni and undergraduates alike in a merry custom that has continued for over a century.

Elmira

106th Elmira Dinner

The 106th Elmira dinner was held on December 8th at the Elmira City Club. The Elmira Dinner is always a festive occasion with much good fellowship and singing.

The recent loss of George Howell, Eta '55 (see In Memoriam below) a stalwart of the event, was on everyone's mind. While George was the heart and soul of the Elmira dinner, a commitment was made to ensure the dinner continued. Brian Peters, Pi '99 (Syracuse) was elected president of the Elmira association.

Psi U in the movies
Sculley If you've seen the movie Steve Jobs, you know that John Sculley III, Sigma '61 (Brown) is being played by Jeff Daniels.

Sculley was named president and CEO of Pepsi-Cola in 1977 but Jobs lured him to Apple in 1983 with the now famous pitch: "Do you want to sell sugared water for the rest of your life? Or do you want to come with me and change the world?"
