Tau Launches Jopwell

Ryan Williams, Tau '12 (UPenn), has started a company, Jopwell, that helps companies recruit minority candidates for internships and jobs.

Jopwell is a platform that lets companies connect with and recruit minority candidates for internships and jobs.  These employers are considered “partner companies” by Jopwell, which helps them create a highly customizable employer page on the platform. That page enables companies to market their internships, job opportunities and programs to Jopwell’s minority users, which come from underrepresented ethnic minority groups– Black, Latin/Hispanic, and Native American.

Xi Chapter Starts Litter Cleanup Initiative

This year’s Psi Upsilon pledges held a litter cleanup Monday, April 27 as their community service project for the spring semester. The cleanup focused chiefly on the center of campus: Foss Hill, Andrus Field, around Usdan and College Row, and the backyards of houses around Fountain Avenue.

“Foss can get pretty messy, backyards can be just filled with litter, especially when it’s nice outside and people want to chill outside,” Joseph Nucci ’16 said. “So we were thinking, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could just motivate the campus somehow to get more into picking up the trash around them when they see it?’ And we thought the easiest way to do that would be to launch an initiative.”
