John Hansford, Tau '79 (U Penn) writes: "My affiliation with Psi U and Penn instilled in me the desire to be creative and productive as well as having fun in the process. My first real experiences with billiards was in the basement of the Castle, on a dated Brunswick that had a lean towards one pocket which was called "Bertha". Those of us that knew of Bertha had a distinct advantage over others.

Marc Dillard, Chi Delta '91 (Duke), (second from right) with his grateful Chi Delta brothers
Tim Zepp, Chi Delta '08, EJ and Nigel O'Rear, Gamma Tau '07 & '05 (Georgia Tech), Brandon and Justin Noia, Chi Delta '08 & '09 | In May, Tim Zepp, Chi Delta '08, along with Brandon and Justin Noia, Chi Delta '08 & '09, travelled to Japan with two other Duke friends to meet Lynnsie Bowles, Chi Delta'06 who is teaching English there. During their trip, Lynnsie got a call from Marc Dillard, Chi Delta '91, an economist at the US Embassy in Tokyo. He learned that Lynnsie was in Japan from the chapter's newsletter and wanted to meet. Marc treated the group to dinner and a tour of the Roppongi district, a favorite for many American and European ex-patriots. Later in the trip, while browsing in Akihabara, the Electric Town district in Tokyo, Tim spotted EJ O'Rear, Gamma Tau '07 (Georgia Tech) who he met at a Psi Upsilon Convention and an earlier visit to Georgia Tech. After a quick double-take, they stopped to say hello. EJ was in Tokyo visiting his brother Nigel, Gamma Tau'05 and it was pure luck that they ran into each other at that time and place. |
